Admittedly, this is a mostly LAMP and JS position, though we have a
couple of Rails apps that will need an extensive rewrite in Rails 3 in
the near future. I'm posting it here, because I have a lot of respect
for the group and suspect I'm not the only SDRuby member who's
interested in languages and technologies other than Ruby and Rails.
There's potential for more Ruby/Rails projects, which would only
increase with another Ruby engineer on board, but most of your time will
be spent coding in PHP and JavaScript.

Advanced Reservation Systems, Inc (ARES) is looking for an experienced
software engineer to join our small team.
In this position you will have the opportunity to make major
contributions to the next generation of our e-commerce platform. You
will collaborate with members of the technology, product development,
and marketing departments to define project requirements and build
state-of-the-art software to take ARES to the next level. You must be a
quick learner, have good communication skills, and be able to maintain
large software projects through their lifecycle: architecture/design,
implementation, testing, and post-release maintenance and support.
Experience with specific tools, frameworks, and libraries, while
appreciated, is much less important than a solid understanding of core
web technologies, familiarity with modern design techniques and
development practices, and platform-agnostic problem solving skills.
Desired Skills and Experience
* Expert PHP5 programming knowledge and skill
* Expert applied knowledge of modern web technologies, including
HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
* Extensive experience with at least one major JS framework (jQuery,
YUI, Ext, Prototype, MooTools, Dojo, MochiKit)
* Hands-on experience with testing/quality assurance strategies and
methodologies
* Solid MySQL skills, including query optimization, views, triggers,
and stored procedures
* Strong grasp of the DOM and its browser-specific implementations
* Working knowledge of Linux, shell scripting, and Apache
* Familiarity with at least one version control system (CVS, SVN,
Git, Mercurial)
* Demonstrable experience with at least one other programming
language (Ruby, Python, Java, C, C++, C#, Perl)
