I should also mention that GitX is THE BEST SCM gui client app that I have ever used. It allows you to add specific lines and remove them from your index REALLY easily. You can browser old file versions as well, which is nice when you wanna go back and see what a file looked like 2 years ago (I did that 3 times today!). It doesn't do submodules AFAIK, but i don't deal with them much. The few times I do it's pretty easy to use the CLI for that. For large projects (ours has 6269 commits), you notice a small slowdown during some operations, but it's not that bad, and will probably only get better with newer versions. Lemme know if you want some more tips for how to use it in a workflow.
