In the software world, we are well aware of the challenge of keeping up
with the fast pace of new technologies and languages. Tomorrow, Dan
Gilkerson will be passing on some tricks he has learned for dealing with
this. The meeting will take place at 6:30pm, May 3rd, at The Linkery in
North Park.
"Techniques for adapting to new languages and frameworks"
Development platforms are constantly evolving and can be hard to keep up
with. Dan has developed techniques for quickly understanding new
languages and frameworks; he will demonstrate some of his favorite
methods, including how to leverage your existing knowledge and how to
use sandboxing to isolate the concept that you want to learn.
Dan Gilkerson has been building software since he was 8. He started his
career off in computer security and now is an agile developer at
VersionOne. He has contributed to a variety of projects including
Approval Tests, Ruby on Rails, F#, and CodeRush. Dan enjoys discovering
associations in the world that many overlook; when he’s not building
software he spends time trying out new hobbies such as juggling, magic,
DJing, paintballing, and go-karting.
This meeting will be held at The Linkery in North Park at 6:30PM. Here
