I was surprised to find that I think the greatest interest in my last talk was 
in the discussion of what advantages Postgres has.

While I did a polemic on Postgresql vs MySQL back in the day:

… and it’s still pretty much relevant, if there is interest, I could do 
something that’s less of a polemic and more a technical overview of the 
features that would be available to you should you switch to Postgres (or that 
you just may not be aware of even if you are using Postgres), and what they’re 
for.

I’m thinking things like partial and functional indexes, custom data types, the 
advanced programming features, hstore and Postgis.

I could do a presentation on these features at the next meeting, or perhaps in 
a month or so if y’all don’t want too all Postgres all the time(™). :-)
