Lively group. I'll keep this short. I could give lengthy explanation that yes, HP has layoffs happening. It's a company with over 300,000 employees so given the economy and the overhaul underway, reducing ~ 10% is not a surprise. I could also explain that many of the 29,000 people are actually exiting via early retirement programs in which they do quite well. I said goodbye to many friends this month who have big smiles on their now retired faces.
I'd rather talk about jobs and Ruby and thought this would be a good place to do so. My division is profitable, and local. We need more skilled people.
