Not surprisingly, I'm still in a bit of a state of limbo with our logging 
:) but I started formatting my notes in the form of a reveal.js 
presentation. I *think* I have the facts correct here, but if anyone wanted 
to have a look, that'd be great. This is a preview; I'm not even close to 
done, but the historical portion is up front.

On a separate note, it looks like we're going to go the Graylog2 route 
because of its long message logging and the niceness of GELF metadata for 
log entries. The ability to store context in indexable, fast-searchable 
arbitrary fields is superfantastic.
