Hi Everyone

I am developing a sinatra application that can handle CC processing and
have hit a snag finding a Payment Gateway library that will support my use
case.

I would very much like to use ActiveMerchant as it supports multiple
payment gateways, and this is a requirement for my client. However, it
appears that the main branch of ActiveMerchant does not support what I
will call "Card Present" transactions (borrowing from Authorize.net
terminology). A Card Present transaction means that the customer is
swiping their card using some kind of card reader, as opposed to just
typing in their card number into a web form. In my use case, mobile
devices are talking to this sinatra back-end application.

It seems that ActiveMerchant purposefully is keeping Card Present
transactions out of the main branch. Or maybe Card Present transactions
are just not as important in the web-only world. I'm wondering if any of
you out there that have developed mobile applications might have experience
in dealing with these Card Present transactions and if you have
recommendations for libraries / gems ? Non Ruby solutions would also be
welcome.

I was also wondering if any of you could recommend a good forum for mobile
developers since it seems that Card Present transactions are more of an
issue with mobile developers.
