Mine (http://www.provantage.com/ergotron-33-340-200~4ERGT0KU.htm) with a 
Thunderbolt monitor and Mac wired keyboard pushed to the back of the 
keyboard tray, puts the monitor about 22" from my eyes. My arms may be 
longer than yours, so consider that. I can pull the keyboard back an inch 
or two because the keyboard tray is deep, so that can gain an inch or two. 
It works for me because I'm an oldster and need reading glasses; I had some 
made focused at the right distance and use those at the computer.
