Yep, I had the same experience and thought it was just me! One _could_ install Ubuntu as Bootcamp and go "native" docker. Who would want to do THAT to a MacBookPro?!?! (They are reportedly the best "Windows" hardware though!)
Eventually native OSX support is on the radar for the Docker dev team.
