Yeah, good call. I'll move the more generic stuff -- like stripping
whitespace -- into callbacks.
But since I'm rewriting URLs for the purposes of validation, seems
like the others should live in #validate... a link might be valid,
but I want it to be _more_ valid in some cases.
This is a nice way to catch silly, non-fatal errors without the need
for messaging users.

that run pre-validation and they're best for what you're talking
