Gravatar is sweet, but waiting for gravatar.com images to load can slow page rendering times. Maybe this will change with 2.0, but just in case...

Has anyone thought about caching these things?

- When first rendering a page, check gravatars for users linked to current view - If a user has a gravatar, cache it locally (and tie to user model, so cached gravatar can be used globally)
- When page is requested again, use cached gravatars
- If a user with no cached gravatar makes a new comment, check for gravatar and cache if exists - If gravatar age exceeds cache threshold (15 min, 1 hour, etc.), update gravatar

Best,
Patrick
