Randy, This is what I use for dreamhost:

The best practices article itself is a little out of date, but can help
you get going in the right direction.
I keep edge rails out of subversion. It is a shared link: add this to
after_symlink in recipe
# This creates the symlinks for Edge Rails
run "ln -nfs #{shared_path}/rails #{release_path}/vendor/rails"
Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with on dreamhost,
I've had relatively good success with deploying apps on DH.

TextDrive?
