Nice work! That will greatly simplify simple apps that need to send mail.
I've also got a setup that uses Google mail as the MTA if anyone is
interested.

Again, the functionality of this mailer is very basic right now, but
works for our current needs. This plugin will most likely be actively
developed in the future as we're looking to incorporate it into a few
other large projects we have in the works.
