Hey all, I spotted a pretty scary story on News.com, but I've lost the link; hopefully someone less sleepy than me can track it down again. It sounds like 37signals is getting slapped with a lawsuit by a Virginia IP holding company. They are claiming violation of four different patents that cover Active Resource and other big chunks of Rails. Worse still, I think they're seeking an injunction to halt development and distribution of Rails. Can they really do that? And how much of the Web could go dark as a result of that?
