Indeed.
Look, part of Ruby's charm is it's hackability. And, I think there are
shades of gray in such hacks. Truth is, some of the metaprogramming
that some people on this very list are comfortable with every day
probably seem awkward and unreadable to others of us.
Even though I'm not into it, I think it's cool that such things are
possible in the language.
I also think that another of Ruby's charms is its high level of
expressiveness. It's often times readable by your average idiot (i.e.
non Ruby coder). That's incredibly useful, particularly in "real code"
(in business, requiring maintenance, etc.).
In saying that, I'm sure that all of us are always seeking out that fine
balance between nice looking and geeked out code. Well, maybe not all
of us, but at least all of the top-quoters and snippers anyway. :)
