Are we really going to go down this road? I'm very political, but I tend to think it's polite (or at least common sense) to refrain from politicking on a technical mailing list. Do you really want to open this list up to plugs for everyone's favorite candidate? And the resulting, no doubt acrimonious, "discussions?"

I love debating politics, but I don't see how this will be anything but counterproductive here.

PS: I know I sound like a PC ninny. But I've seen this unfold before. Let's not. By all means, invite people into a side mailing list, or to get-together (what a quaint spelling my Mac says is correct), or whatever! That might be cool.
