The AnnotationIntrospector works on java.lang.reflect.AnnotatedElement types.
However, in an extension, you are most often dealing with an Annotated.
Therefore, the AnnotationIntrospector should provide parallel utilities for
retrieving/checking an annotation on Annotated or any stereotype on Annotated.
