Just a small update for everyone who gets hit by this. I'm currently using
another {{ApplicationFactory}} wrapper as a workaround for this bug:

This factory has to be added to your {{faces-config.xml}} like this:

This works fine for me. Not a very nice workaround but now the injection also
works with MyFaces. :)
