COMPARE AND CONTRAST DB2 AND CICS | by Jim Keohane

We are a big DB2 and CICS shop. The debate we are currently having is
over the effectiveness of using DB2 stored-procedures vs. CICS to
provide our scalable business processes going forward. The main
argument is that the DBA's believe that they can out 'deploy' the
CICS Cobolers, and the CICS folks believe that they can out perform
(run-time) the stored-procedures. Please compare and contrast these
two approaches.

TRANSITIONING FROM MVS TO MQSERIES | by Clayton Ching

I'm an MVSer, who was tasked with deployment of MQSeries on OS/390. I
fell in like with the technology, and am interested in your opinion
about how to make a career transition into the MQ world. I would also
appreciate your input on the certification paths you are aware of,
and areas of future growth, so I might have a target market goal.
