;) I'd like to extend to you a personal invitation to join us this Tuesday, November 20th at 12:00 p.m. EST (17:00 GMT) for a live Q&A with CICS guru Bob Yelavich. Many of you may already know a bit about Bob, but just in case you don't, let me give you some information. Bob enjoyed a forty-year career with IBM and has been involved with CICS product support since 1968. Since retiring from IBM in 1996, Bob's given countless CICS-related presentations, writes CICS newsletters and is a guest speaker at conferences and events worldwide. Search390 is proud to have him back for another live Q&A. Let me give you an idea of what Bob will be discussing during this event. Where do you go from here in moving up through the versions of CICS, and how do you get there? The recommendation is for all users to focus (one day) on migrating to 2.2. but there may be alternatives. Bob will present migration alternatives, and will identify and examine all possible migration paths. He'll also discuss concerns for migration paths not recommended. So please join us for this exciting event. To pre-register, simply click here. See you Tuesday. BJ |

| Tip of the Week: |
| You're intrigued with WebSphere Application Server (WAS) on z/OS but are concerned about it being a Java environment. You can incorporate C/C++ subroutines. What about the oodles of COBOL subroutines that you would like to use as building blocks in some Web apps? They can't handle a threaded environment. Read on and see why |
