How do I find out? I ask around and everyone I ask just says, "Well it costs something but I don't know. Go ask somebody else." What are the variables that factor into how much it really costs to transfer data? How can I determine if it is actually financially more feasible to use a pre-transfer compression utility like PKZIP MVS or just continue what I'm doing? I know that if I compress data before I FTP, the data will get there faster, but how does this translate into money?
