Is this possible? I seem to hit a dead end with every idea. >> CLICK for Jim's expert response: http://search390.techtarget.com/ateQuestionNResponse/0,289625,sid10_cid454888_tax285123,00.html =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= NEED HELP RECOGNIZING RECEIPT OF E-MAIL ATTACHMENT? | by Jim Keohane Dear Ask the Expert: We have customers who e-mail spreadsheet data to one of our clerks. The data is then keyed into an online system running on our OS/390 mainframe. We'd like to automate this process by having the customer e-mail a comma separated text file (or similar) to an e-mail address set up on our mainframe SMTP server. We'd like the ability to recognize that an email plus attachment has been received and have a batch job read the attachment and save the data in a file for further processing. >> CLICK for Part I of Jim's expert response: http://search390.techtarget.com/ateQuestionNResponse/0,289625,sid10_cid455575_tax285123,00.html >> CLICK for Part II of Jim's expert response: http://search390.techtarget.com/ateQuestionNResponse/0,289625,sid10_cid455576_tax285123,00.html =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= HOW TO GENERATE USER-SPECIFIC SUBJECT LINES? | by Mark Zelden Dear Ask the Expert, At present I can generate an e-mail from JCL with a common subject for all of the users listed in my dataset. But I want to have a subject that is specific to each user. Is it possible to send e-mails from JCL, where there is a multiple list of users and a differing subject for each user? >> CLICK for Mark's expert response: http://search390.techtarget.com/ateQuestionNResponse/0,289625,sid10_cid479078_tax287555,00.html -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= IBM BUYS MONDAY ON TUESDAY | News: InformationWeek Hewlett-Packard couldn't do it so they moved on to bigger and better things. A hospital computer in England assumed a birth year ending in 99 was 1999. A staffer contacted Joseph Dickinson, presumably born three years ago, for an eye check and told him to bring his mum. Can you see where this is going? Little Joey the toddler is really Mr. Dickinson the centenarian. He was born in 1899 -- Mum can't make it! Evidently the Y2K bug still has some teeth, although the same might not be able to be said for Mr. Dickinson.
