MQSERIES PERFORMANCE AND AMOUNT OF DATA SENT | by Clayton Ching

Dear Ask the Expert,
I have been told that MQSeries performance, at any one site, depends
on the amount of data being sent. So if I send 1,000K it might take
10 seconds, I can then predict that if I send 10,000K it would take
100 seconds. Is this true? If it is can you point me to any
independent research that confirms this relationship?

REMOVING DUPLICATE RECORDS FROM A SEQUENTIAL FILE | by Mark Zelden

Dear Ask the Expert,
How do I remove duplicate records from a sequential file with a
record length of 1500 and over 500,000 records? I've sorted these
records in a separate file, but I'm still not sure how to remove the
duplicate entries.

HOW TO MEASURE INCREASES IN OS ACTIVITY? | by Steve Samson

Dear Ask the Expert,
I've just been asked to measure and report on any activity increases
in the OS after we moved from R2.9 to R1.2. Any ideas? Would a PG 0
equivalent (if there is one) be sufficient?

DO YOU HAVE 390 QUESTIONS? | Discussion forums

Search390 user "MVSGuy" posted the following in the Operating Systems
forum and needs your help: "I am building a new system, going from
OS/390 2.8 to 2.10. Under 2.8, we had output in our jobs that
displayed the step return codes. For example:
08.00.00 JOB06191 -JOBNAME STEPNAME PROCSTEP RC EXCP CONN TCB
08.00.00 JOB06191 -CPTEC004 CA07RMS RMS@20 00 9 8 .00
08.06.41 JOB06191 -CPTEC004 ENDED. NAME-TECHSUPP TOTAL TCB

"Does anyone know which exit produces this output? We used to
explicitly code an exit in the long gone past but I seem to remember
not needing an exit the last couple of upgrades. Any ideas?"
