Dear Ask the Expert,
There are concerns at my location that running a Web server in an
LPAR on a mainframe puts my other LPARs at risk for unauthorized
access. I have not been able to convince the powers that be that
there is no chance of this occuring. Do you know of any source I can
use to support my theory that data on one LPAR can not be "attacked"
from another LPAR running a Web server?

IBM CUTS 2,800 JOBS, CLOSES HUNGARIAN PLANT | News: CNET
IBM is cutting 2,800 positions in its hard drive and Global Services
businesses. Most of the cuts are the result of the closing of a hard
drive manufacturing plant in Szekesfehervar, Hungary, a company
representative said.

THE MISSING LINK | Too much Net can be a deadly thing
For some people, the Net seems to be an addictive drug, and like
addictive drugs, it can wreak havoc on the body. In the last few
days, two gamers died after marathon play sessions. The most recent
victim, a 27-year-old man in Taiwan, played for 32 hours straight
before he "overdosed." The cause of death was listed as exhaustion. A
South Korean man died several days earlier. His Net binge lasted 86
hours. A psychologist said that playing games for hours on end with
no rest, combined with the sensory overload, can be too much for the
body and the mind to handle.
