SOUND OFF FORUM | Who should get mainframe security access?

One Search390.com user asked expert Mark Zelden who he thought should
get mainframe security access. Mark shared his insights and now we'd
like to get yours.

Here's the question posed to Mark:
"We are a new OS/390 shop that has insourced from an outsourcing data
center. I am the security administrator for the mainframe. I work in
the systems programming department, where we have DBAs. The DBAs
believe that they should have the same security access as the
mainframe systems programmers. I don't believe this should happen but
I am having a hard time convincing the assistant vice president that
they should not have the same access."

Who do you think should have security access to the mainframe?

THE MISSING LINK | Out of the Loop: The code name game

Oh, those Microsoft code names! From Avalon to Whistler, from Mercury
to Jupiter and from Cairo to Memphis -- the code name game is really
a mind game if you think about it. But Gates and the gang could get a
little more creative.
