This Week: In the forums
>> Search390 user "jbush" needs to know if he's doing his zSeries upgrade correctly:
"We are planning a two-step conversion from HDS Pilot P48S with OS/390 2.9. We're first upgrading to a z800-003 then, five months later, to z/OS 1.4 64-bit. The HDS only has ESCON storage paths. For the first step, we plan to build new system areas on our new Fibre only STK 9960 array, which is connected with FICON. I predict that the only pre-conversion maintenance should be needed for FICON and zSeries support. Am I right?
