This Week: In the forums
>> Search390.com user jbush recently posted this in the Upgrading to zSeries forum:

We are planning a 2 step conversion from HDS Pilot P48S with OS/390 2.9, first to a z800-003, then, 5 months later, to z/OS 1.4 64-bit. The HDS only has ESCON storage paths. For the first step, we plan to build new system areas on our new fibre only STK 9960 array, connected with FICON. I predict that the only pre-conversion maintenance should be for FICON and zSeries support. Am I right?

Check out the great responses posted from other Search390.com members, and post one of your own.

>> In the Operating Systems forum, "gilberto" needs help with this:

We are an OS/390 2.6 shop and want to activate SSL with telnet. The docs refer me to the MKKF utility, which is part of LDAP, to create the keyrings, etc. My question: Do we need LDAP active in order to use MKKF? If so, it seems to require DB2 as its store. Can it be set up to store the certificates in the RACF database?

If you have the answer to gilberto's question, please share it with us.
