HOW TO REDUCE DB2 INDEX NLEVELS? | Ask the Expert

Dear Craig Mullins,
One application program is running slow because it is selecting an
inefficient index. This is because NLEVELS (4) is more for the
efficient index of the program. I tried running a reorganization on
the index to reduce the NLEVELS, but it's still at 4. How can I
reduce the NLEVELS for the index?

Dear Jim Schesvold,
I'm considering migrating directly to z/OS 1.4 from OS/390 2.8
(instead of going to 2.10 then 1.4). Are there any extreme

HOW TO REUSE BUSINESS LOGIC IN CICS? | Ask the Expert

Dear Robert Harris,
What's the best way to reuse business logic in CICS? We want our
batch MVS programs and our CICS programs to reuse the business logic
embedded in CICS because they need access to resources like VSAM
files.
