They're stressed out, and doctors are pointing their accusatory fingers at the mobile phone. Wireless calls and text messaging are so popular in China (about 250 million messages per day in 2002), that people there are getting bum thumbs. Constant pressing of the little keypad is putting digits in a daze -- a medical condition called "tenosynovitis," which basically means messaging mania is causing people to mess up their tendons. Doctors there say it's time to tend to the tendons and send fewer messages.
