From the Editor: What are your job gripes?

by Mark Brunelli, Site Editor

Now that the food-induced holiday bellyaches have subsided, it's time to bellyache about something else -- your job!

Griping about work is always great fodder for the water cooler, and now it's time to take it public. Mainframe technology is a great place to work in IT, but it's not all wine and roses. It's often a thankless job to be a mainframe application developer or systems administrator, mainly because the only time someone notices you is when you mess up.

Tell the Search390.com news team about the biggest day-to-day challenges associated with your job. Are you tired of fighting budget battles, debating migration paths or trying to get the decision-makers to take your concerns seriously? Send us an e-mail with your comments today.

See you online!

Tip of the Week:
Novant Health started fighting spam almost by accident. The company, which manages health care facilities in North Carolina, needed encryption tools to comply with new federal regulations regarding the handling of patient data. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act requires companies to add layers of security to information architecture, so that prying eyes can't see patient information.
