ASK THE EXPERTS
The best 25 references for z/OS migration
I am getting ready to upgrade from OS/390 2.8 to z/OS 1.4. If I have two volumes that I could IPL from 2.8 and 1.4, what's the affect if I bring it up under 1.4 then point it back to 2.8? Also, do you have any recommendations of where I can get some documentation on setting up and going to the 1.4 environment?

THE MISSING LINK
Online lottery could stir a lot o' interest

Or a lotto interest -- get it? Anyway, some lawmakers in Georgia want to put the state lottery online. So instead of stopping somewhere to buy a ticket and scratching it up, you could log on to a Web site and charge a ticket to your plastic. If the idea survives the considerable legal hurdles, it would be the first e-lottery in the nation. The idea here is to out-convenience the convenience stores by appealing to techies and computer-bound people. (The Associated Press)
