ASK THE EXPERT | Eliminating the need to specify JCLLIB statements

Our z/OS systems programming expert, Mark Zelden, tackled the
following user question:

"We are migrating to z/OS r1.4. Our system programmers now tell us we
have to use the JCLLIB statement to point to our variety of proclibs.
In our current environment this is handled apparently via JES2. Do
you know of a way to eliminate the need to modify thousands of jobs
and dynamically point to a list of proclibs?"

JOIN THE DISCUSSION | SMS SPACE CONSTRAINT RELIEF IGD17286I

In the Sound Off forum, DonDavis asked ...

"We are a z/OS 1.3 environment. In SMS, we use the SPACE CONSTRAINT
RELIEF (IGD17286I) feature for primary disk space reduction when the
primary allocation is not available. We would like to have a method
for doing post reporting for when the IGD17286I message/feature is
used so that we can update the associated jcl to a more reasonable
space value."

Can you help DonDavis?

THE MISSING LINK | AOL to give away spammer's Porsche

Never mind "You've got mail." America Online is going to be telling
one lucky subscriber "You've got a Porsche!" One unlucky spammer had
to hand over his sweet ride as part of a lawsuit settlement with the
company. Now the ISP is going to hand the car over to one of its
subscribers who recently used AOL's "report spam" feature.
