ASK THE EXPERTS: ROT advice when upgrading
A user asked our Mark Zeldon, our zOS system programming expert:
We are planning to consolidate workloads from two R85 to 1C3. Even if we are increasing the MIPS of R85, we are reducing the number of engines from 8 to 3. I understand even if we get more power, the reduction in the number of engines can affect the performance. The deadline to enter is 11:59 p.m. EDT Thursday,
with the winner likely to be announced during the week of April 19.
