Explaining migration error code
[Search390.com]
A Search390.com user asked:
Currently we are moving from OS/390 V2R10 to z/OS V1.3. When we tried to migrate the testing environment, we received the following error: EZZ4310I Code:80103026 reported on device token ring. Diagnostic code:03. Any recommendations?

The effects of migrating from OS/390 and z/OS on CICS
[Search390.com]
A Search390.com user asked:
When migrating from OS/390 to z/OS I would like to know its effects on CICS codes and DB2. I have come across documents that give information about proposed changes in ISPF, JES2/3, etc., but I would like to know its effect on working of DB2/CICS. As far as COBOL source codes are concerned, I think there should be no need for the recompilation of codes. Or, should we also upgrade it?

The best path from OS/390 to z/OS 1.3
[Search390.com]
A Search390.com user asked:
I am running OS/390 2.10 on an IBM 9672-R26 G5 in 31-bit mode. I would like to upgrade to z/OS 1.3, but I must admit that I am not sure that it is smart. It seems to me that the safest way to upgrade is to run OS/390 R10 on the z/800 first, in 31-bit mode and test the 64-bit mode in a test LPAR before going to z/OS 1.3. What do you think?

Moving from OS/390 to V2R10 to z/OS
[Search390.com]
A Search390.com user asked:
We are planning to move to z/OS from OS/390 V2R10. We found that LMF is not supported under z/OS. We have in-house panels and clists that call LMF functions and compilers to promote programs & JCL. What are the alternatives on z/OS? We are looking at a product that has minimal costs, is reliable and provides an easy migration path from LMF.
