The file is currently in EBCDIC format, but when I transfer it up as binary I don't seem to be getting the line feed characters correctly. If I attempt the transfer through Attachmate Extra and specify line feed on then it comes up correctly, but I need to automate this solution using native FTP." >> For Jim's response, click: http://search390.techtarget.com/ateQuestionNResponse/0,289625,sid10_cid609960_tax285123,00.html?track=NL-170&ad=494414 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= CONVERSION AND PERFORMANCE ISSUES | Ask the Expert A Search390.com user asked Jim Schesvold, our z/OS expert: "We have a large, old (non-LE) PLI application being converted to Enterprise COBOL. What performance issues and/or overhead will b incurred with both the COBOL/LE CICS and batch programs? We will be installing on z/OS v1.4 on a 9672-R46 that is running close to maximum capacity and I am worried about not having enough CPU to handle it." >> For Jim's response, click: http://search390.techtarget.com/ateQuestionNResponse/0,289625,sid10_cid609965_tax292523,00.html?track=NL-170&ad=494414 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= THE MISSING LINK | This is my son @ and my grandson @, Jr. This makes that whole Prince thing look alarmingly normal. According to the "Beijing Morning Post," a man in central China wanted to name his newborn son "@." Not "#" or "&" or even "/" but "@." Not exactly your standard Chinese character. The man said that the @ symbol is so common thanks to e-mail that it would make an uncommonly good name for his newborn. But province officials named the @ppellation unacceptable, and claimed that Chinese law requires that all names be translatable into Mandarin. So for now, you can just call the kid "The boy formerly known as @."
