Can IEBEDIT randomly execute JCL steps?
[Mark Zelden]
Dear Mark:
Is it possible to execute JCL steps randomly (of our own choice) by using the IEBEDIT utility. I heard coding DPRTY in the STEP will serve this purpose. I think DPRTY coded on the step level is just ignored.

Output file creation with diff LRECL from JCL
[Tom Ross]
Dear Tom:
I declared the record length in the COBOL program as 458, and the file is opened in output mode. The file is declared as a new catalog delete in JCL. The LRECL specified as 358 then the interesting thing happened: The file was created with 458, the job abended and I got an open error. How can this happen even though through the JCL it's specified as 358?

Capturing a system date in a JCL file
[Mark Zelden]
