LEAD STORY
"Domino and WebSphere will maintain their independence"
Despite some user concern that IBM may combine its two
popular application servers, Domino and WebSphere, into one
product, that isn't likely to happen says a Lotus
executive. In fact, while IBM says it will continue to
integrate the two products, the products will remain
separate. The integration, it said, would only add to the
servers' functionality.

[2] "IBM registers to sell i2 shares"
Just a year ago, IBM invested in i2 Technologies as part of
an alliance with Ariba. Now, IBM wants to sell about 2
million shares of its ecommerce partner. IBM will still
retain an interest in i2, but while the alliance between
the three companies was initially successful, analysts have
said the union was strained by Ariba's attempted
acquisition of Agile software. That deal fell through
earlier this year.

It plans on buying them out, but it won't shut them down.

"Tuna 'virus' puts five in hospital"
In Germany a suspected computer virus made people, and not
their systems, sick. Workers at an Internet company
received a warning reading "watch out for the tuna fish,"
which they thought was a notice about a computer virus. It
turns out, the email came from the company that catered
their lunch. Five workers wound up in the hospital with
food poisoning. Sorry, Charlie.
