[3] "Database size isn't everything"
It ain't over till it's over. Case in point: Oracle may
hold the lead, but some companies are beginning to look at
IBM's DB2 offerings a lot more seriously -- especially if
they already have Oracle installed. Apparently, insiders
say that IBM, which offers a host of XML and Java links, is
simply less expensive.

THE MISSING LINK
A look at an off-the-wall story off the Web
--------------------------------------------

"High-tech thieves plant money 'bugs' "
Credit card skimming has gone automated. What used to be
the domain of crooked waiters with handheld scanners has
rapidly transformed into high-tech thievery. These days
crooks are placing computer chips inside point-of-sale
credit card terminals that have the ability to dial out and
send the stolen credit card numbers to the thief's
computer. A company called Hypercom discovered the bugs and
issued a warning last week. Naturally, the response from
industry heavyweights like Visa was lukewarm. Until they
see the chips as "prevalent" inside POS terminals, Visa is
publicly shrugging its shoulders at the technique.
