[2] "Informatica targets AS/400 and mainframe markets"
Analytics software vendor Informatica has released a
product aimed at the mainframe and AS/400 markets.

without having to develop Cobol data integration programs.

[3] "Does Linux have a future on the desktop?"
While Linux has made inroads in the server space (including
on the S/390 and now the AS/400), its fate on the desktop
isn't so certain. Just a few weeks ago, Dell Computer Corp.
stopped offering Linux as an option for desktop systems.
Some industry watchers question whether the open source
Unix cousin will even be a force on the desktop.

[4] "IBM, Monster.com kick start corporate e-learning"
E-learning opportunities abound as heavier hitters, such as
IBM and Monster.com, get into the online training business.
As companies try to avoid the high costs associated with
traditional training, e-learning is expected to take off.
International Data Corp. predicts the market for e-learning
content, tools and services will reach $18 billion by 2005,
up from just $4.2 billion this year.

[2] "iSeries-centric enterprise management"
This four-page white paper discusses the AS/400 in
combination with the product line from Help/Systems.
According to this paper, this product can become your
enterprise system management tool -- the essence of AS/400-
Centric Management. Help/Systems began working toward
enterprise management from the AS/400 in 1995 when it
introduced a product called Robot/CLIENT. Robot/CLIENT is
Help/Systems' operations event manager that lets you manage
the interaction of the AS/400 with non-AS/400 platforms.

"Workers use e-mail for flirting"
The office romance has gone digital. Workers surveyed in
Britain confessed to various forms of on-the-job e-mail
abuses, and flirting in the virtual office was No. 1 on the
offenders' hit parade. Men were the biggest offenders with
27% admitting sending their romantic overtures through an
e-mail server as compared to 13% of the women. Women said
their biggest abuse was planning their social life or
gossiping. Forwarding porn and jokes also ranked high on
the list.
