Edwards reports smaller-than-expected loss" [1] "IBM is front-runner to buy Motorola chip unit" It looks as if Motorola will sell or float its semiconductor division, unless it sees better results. Potential buyers include IBM or AMD, but a spin-off is not out of the question. In the case of a sale, some analysts says IBM makes the most sense, mainly because of the overlap between the two companies' product lines with Power PC, Rapid I/O and wireless chips. Spawned by his Web site, LetMeStayForADay.com, Stopplenberg has been on a three-month trek across Europe. Penniless, Stopplenberg sponges a warm bed, a meal and computer access from generous Europeans responding to his online solicitations for room and board. He's slept in castles and on countless couches. He's even managed clothing and limited travel expenses from several sponsors. And the invitations keep pouring in from South Africa, Asia and even an invite from Jay Leno to appear on the Tonight Show. Leaving Europe, however, will require airfare, and so far there have been no takers interested in footing the bill. File this one under: Stranded.
