Determining field name and cursor position

When you're swamped trying to keep up with all that's thrown at you,
even simple tips can make your job easier. Here site expert Tim
Granatir gives you three techniques -- and a sample program -- to
help you out. The program demonstrates how you can do the following:

* Get the cursor location at the time the user hits enter.

* Get the format and the field name that the user was at when enter
was pressed.

* Override the cursor positioning.

You can use these techniques for several things, but the main ones
are F4 prompting and developing a customized help system.

Answers to Other Technical Questions
===============================================================

1. Refresh your display
This tip teaches you a quick way to refresh your display file
automatically without the input of a user.
http://search400.techtarget.com/tip/1,289483,sid3_gci764937,00.html

2. A table that shows possible CPF error messages
This user writes, "Is there a table that can be downloaded that shows
each of the possible CPF error messages that can be generated for any
CL command?" Read this Q&A to see what advice expert Tim Granatir
gave.

3. Reading files with Java on the OS/400
The writer of this question wanted to read index sequential files
using Java on an AS/400 running OS/400 4.5 with the S36 environment
option enabled. If you have experience in this, would you please
respond to help a fellow member?

4. What should I name that field?
One user writes, "I would like to develop a minimal set of
requirements for variable naming conventions. To put it in simple
words, if we are to declare a variable, what should the properties
that the name of the variable possess?" Check out what site expert
John Kohan had to say.
