RESTORING THE PRODUCTION BOX | Advice: search400

One member writes, "I have to recreate an LF over a PF. The LF
has MAINT(*DLY). The PF has over 3 millions records. When we
start the function CRTLF it maxs out our CPU. Now we can
reproduce it on our test box so that it won't damage the
response time. How will I restore it to the production box
without having to recreate it once it is created on the
testbox?" Site expert John Brandt offers some advice.

RUNNING CL COMMANDS | Advice: search400

This member wants to simulate a command line on some of the
screens so users can enter "call" commands and "Qry" commands.
He's thought about placing a field on the screen then passing
it to a CL program to try and run the contents and wonders if
there is a DDS word or a routine he can send it through.

SMART INFRASTRUCTURE | searchMiddleware Best Web Link

During the past 30 years, we have seen the Internet change
from a basic set of transport protocols to an expansive
application platform that supports complicated transactions
and large-scale data transport. But during the past two years
we have seen the rise of a completely new type of Internet
service.

THE MISSING LINK | Keeping a who's-naughty list

They know when you've been stealing. They know when you've
skipped school. They know when you have sassy mouth, so be
good, don't break the rule. OK, that's a lame attempt to making this
similar to "Santa Claus is Coming to Town". Police in London are
getting downright North Polar on kids over there. Any youngster who
demonstrates criminal potential will go on the law's "naughty
list" -- a delinquency database that will track kids'
behavior. Police and community workers will keep an eye on the
naughty and use the information to study why good kids go bad and
recommend therapy or substance abuse treatment programs.
