SANS LURE FEW ISERIES SHOPS | News: iSeries Network

Storage area networks (SANs) are one arrow in the iSeries quiver that
a lot of shops aren't using. For starters, internal storage
accomplishes many of the benefits SANs boast. Plus there are
performance and reliability issues associated with connecting to a
SAN. But for users with specialized needs, the trade-offs can be
worth it. (Free registration is required.)

OS/2 WILL RUN WINDOWS APPLICATIONS AGAIN | News: InformationWeek

Users of OS/2 will soon be able to run their applications along with
those for Windows on a single PC. Connectix Corp. unveiled this week
Virtual PC for OS/2, which uses virtual machine technology so any x86
operating system can be loaded under the "host" operating system.
Companies will be able to still use legacy applications while moving
ahead as the systems can run multiple operating systems
simultaneously.

THE MISSING LINK | In stores soon -- floating product ads?

Wal-Mart meets "The Jetsons" with a dash of "Ghostbusters" to boot.
Holomedia, a joint American-Hungarian venture, has come up with a way
to turn ads into apparitions. The firm has cranked out a gadget that
can project still or moving pictures in such a way that they seem to
float in mid-air. Stores would use the device to float product ads
out on the sales floor. Just imagine walking into a store and seeing
a giant canned ham levitating in front of you. Maybe you'd prefer to
see a ghost. (Source: Reuters)
