A little help from your friends
Often there are times when we can use help with our jobs. Sometimes it's a simple issue we need to resolve, and other times the problem is much bigger. Search400 has several resources to lend a hand when you've run out of ideas, one of which is the free advice from our site experts.

We've had this feature for a while, but recently we enhanced it by adding new systems management-related categories -- security, backup and recovery, and DB2/400 and DB2 UDB. Carol Woodbury and John Earl, both from PowerTech Group, join us as our security experts. In our backup and recovery section, site experts Kenneth Graap and John Brandt offer their advice. John, joined by Pascal Jacquemain, can also answer your DB2 questions.

And if you want to hear from others who may have experienced a similar problem, don't forget you can also post your questions in our discussion forums. With a community as helpful as the 400 community, there's no reason for you to struggle on your own.

>> CAE printer emulation
This user is having a problem in which a print job printed from a CAE print session is reduced in size. He's tried changing the type of printer to another type, but the output is still smaller than it should be (i.e., too small for faxing).
Do you have any suggestions?
>> Escape key
Another user writes, "Does anyone know how to invoke the escape key? I presumed it would be a DDS keyword like using CFnn for function keys or something like this, but there seems to be no reference in any manuals. Any ideas?"

Tip of the Week:
Help! My program has a life of its own!
It's normal to have to rework a program after you've completed it. There are issues that you didn't consider during the design process, not to mention essential information from end users that they forgot to tell you about. But before you start adding quick fixes, step back and look at the big picture. Make sure the solutions you apply won't cause complications later on.
