Salaries on the rise? Nate Viall of Nate Viall & Associates, a firm that specializes in iSeries 400 research, claims in a report due out this spring that no matter what else you've heard -- despite the aftershocks of the dot-com bust and the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks -- salaries for experienced IT professionals are not declining. In fact, for iSeries pros working in specific market segments, salaries increased by as much as 8% from last year. While some are experiencing salary freezes or pay cuts because of the weak economy, most are getting pay hikes. Interestingly, salary increases were smaller in rural areas and among female programmers, mid-level network managers and managers on the West Coast. What about you? Have you received a raise this year? Was it higher or lower than you expected? Let me know what your experience has been and what you see happening in your markets. E-mail me at [EMAIL PROTECTED]. Take a few minutes to take our poll on salaries, too. |

Spooled files go poof! Another user writes, "I'm having a problem where, all of a sudden, print jobs are not printing from our printer even though it will go to PND, then WTR, and then a SAV status. From the AS/400, the job looks like it prints, but then no output when I go to the printer." Several members offer suggestions. |
