Search400 expert John Kohan says he knows of two ways to accomplish this: 1. Create a CL program to print the WRKUSRJOB listing and then copy it to a physical file. From the physical file, you can determine if the user is in the listing. 2. Try to allocate the user's message queue. In theory, if the user is signed on you cannot allocate the message queue. Both get the job done, but there are performance issues to consider. >> CLICK here for the full tip: http://www.search400.com/tip/1,289483,sid3_gci804180,00.html ============================================================ Answers to Other Programmer Questions ============================================================ 1. Need to know who's signed on? Search400 member Anthony Anderson says this command uses the WRKUSRJOB command with assistant level *BASIC to show interactive jobs. The interface allows you to send a message to the user to sign off the session. http://search400.techtarget.com/tip/1,289483,sid3_gci518658,00.html 2. Are you in search of a better lookup? The way that RPG OpCode LOOKUP searches a sorted array can take you days to find what you're looking for. In this tip user Nick Hobson offers an easier way to do searches. http://search400.techtarget.com/tip/1,289483,sid3_gci801392,00.html 3. Performing transfers between iSeries' using DDM files This search400 member would like to transfer data from one iSeries server to another iSeries server using DDM files. He's wonders how to create a DDM file and turns to application development expert John Brandt for advice. http://www.search400.com/ateQuestionNResponse/0,289625,sid3_cid450621_tax285217,00.html 4. ASCII to EBCDIC FTP conversion One user writes, "Does anyone know an easy way to import a tab- delimited ASCII text file into the iSeries 400?"
