Search400 registers 100,000th member -- my how we've grown
Search400 started in 1998 as basically a portal to other AS/400-specific Web sites. Since then it has grown and improved significantly. We still have links to other sites and we have our iSeries-specific search engine, but now we also have original news stories, technical tips, live online events, discussion forums and a panel of experts -- to name just a few things.

It was those features that drew Tom Reilly to Search400 and made him our 100,000th member. Tom, AS/400 Team Lead at GlaxoSmithKline PLC in King of Prussia, Pa., said he subscribed to Search400 after one of his colleagues forwarded a newsletter to him. "I find Search400 to be a valuable source of industry news," he said.

Tom's job description is the quintessential AS/400 administrator profile. He works in the IT Systems & Communications Services (infrastructure) Global Services AS/400 Server Operations group where they do hardware and operating system installations, upgrades, maintenance, as well as performance tuning, capacity planning, security administration, work management and server operations support.

He said GlaxoSmithKline North America, Europe and International use the AS/400 for financials (JD Edwards) and manufacturing (BPCS & Prism) within its Pharmaceutical and Consumer Healthcare divisions. Lotus Domino on AS/400 is also beginning to gain a small presence within the corporation and is being considered as a platform for large-scale Lotus Notes consolidation.

It's members like Tom -- and you -- that make Search400 strong and allow us to continue to provide the news and technical resources you need to excel at your job. So if you know someone who would also benefit from Search400, forward this e-mail to him or her. Then they can see firsthand -- like Tom did -- all that Search400 has to offer.

>> Need help installing Client Access Express V5R1M0
A user writes, "We've just migrated from V4R4M0 to V5R1M0. We also have an existing Client Access Express V4R4M0 installed in our PCs. When we tried to install the Client Access Express V5R1M0, we received an error message and cannot proceed further." Think you might be able to help? Click over to post your suggestions.

Tip of the Week:
Use sign-on display as vehicle for notifying users
Did you ever want to send a message to a terminal that was sitting on a sign-on display? Maybe it's a message to the system console, maybe it's to tell users that they can sign back on after an end-of-month job has completed, or maybe it's just to wish your co-worker a happy birthday. Here is how you can do it.
