Prior to that, he worked at TRW automotive products in Washington, Tyne and Wear, and as an iSeries 400 instructor at Sierra Training, also in London. He got his start in programming when he was 17 and working at Unilog, a software house in Paris. There he was trained on S/36 and S/38. He left Unilog after two years but continued working in France, using RPG/400, RPG/IV, SQL (including embedded) and OPNQRYF. Three years later he moved to the United Kingdom, where he currently works and lives. "Wherever I worked, I tried to complement my knowledge of the iSeries," Pascal says. "This enabled me to learn a lot about several subjects, not just programming but also performance and other system administration tasks." A survey released by none other than Microsoft found that one in 10 office workers blamed the maze of wires and cables around their desks for making them spill their drinks. That's more than five million cups of splattered tea every week in the U.K. The average desk is tied up by nearly 50 feet of wiring -- enough to mug a mug, steal its contents and throw it on the ground. None of the people polled confessed to being a cubicle klutz. Before you say aloud, "Someone in Redmond got paid to do this?," consider this -- Microsoft is coming out with a wireless keyboard. Hmmm.
