Web-enabling apps easier with new WDSC If you have not ventured into the world of Java and WebSphere, IBM has removed any and all reasons that may have prevented you from doing so. WebSphere Development Studio Client (WDSC), announced June 4, greatly eases and speeds up the process for Web-enabling applications. One of the significant enhancements in this package is the support for WebFacing and PCML. Wizards and tutorials make it easier than ever to use those features. Bob Cancilla, one of the beta testers for the product, shows you just how easy. http://search400.techtarget.com/tip/1,289483,sid3_gci832263,00.html 2. WebSphere 3.5 application start/stop utility Search400 member Christopher Schletty provides a CL program code that can be used to start or stop a WebSphere 3.5 application server from a green-screen command line -- via a submitted job. According to Christopher, this program comes in handy when there is a desire to automate stopping and starting of individual WebSphere app servers. http://search400.techtarget.com/tip/1,289483,sid3_gci834640,00.html 3. What's required to WebFace software? One user writes, "We have several software packages that we sell. We are interested in WebFacing. If we WebFace our software, will our customers need to purchase and install additional software from IBM to run the resulting code such as WebSphere Application Server?" Read what Web development expert Dave Slater had to say. http://search400.techtarget.com/ateQuestionNResponse/0,289625,sid3_cid477981_tax285218,00.html 4. Access data tables via servlets This member installed V5R1 on his development box. Ever since the installation, he has not been able to access any of his data tables running WebSphere 3.5 on an OS/400. He wonders if he's going have a problem going forward when he upgrades all of his boxes to V5R1? Web development expert Dave Slater offers some advice. http://search400.techtarget.com/ateQuestionNResponse/0,289625,sid3_cid477976_tax285218,00.html ___________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________ IMPORTANT FEATURES AND LINKS: =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- WIN A PORTABLE LIE DETECTOR | Submit your Tip to Win This is the last week to try to win a portable lie detector.
