An iASP, which lets users move storage between systems, swap in alternative data or programs for testing or other purposes, and perform upgrades without an IPL or significant downtime is designed for shops that need to manage lots of disk capacity, multiple systems or multiple environments. >> CLICK here for story: http://www.midrangeserver.com/tfh/tfh082902-story02.html MORE INFORMATION: Check out this Featured Topic on Storage. http://search400.techtarget.com/featuredTopic/0,290042,sid3_gci797294,00.html =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- OTHER STORIES In addition to the headlines below, others are available on our news page. >> Full Stories: http://search400.techtarget.com/news/0,289141,sid3,00.html PEOPLESOFT BACK IN MIDRANGE SPACE | iSeries Network PeopleSoft skipped out of the iSeries market, but it hasn't given up on the midrange server segment altogether. The CRM vendor is back into the midrange space -- this time on the backs of the xSeries and pSeries. The IBM offering combines PeopleSoft software with IBM middleware and hardware in a bundled solution similar to the custom mixed mode servers preloaded with ERP software that Rochester was hawking a few years ago. He added two 'User-Defined Options' that call his utility programs, which will issue "CHGOBJOWN" or "EDTOBJAUT" commands on the source objects. According to Richard, if the object is not in the same source library, you'll need to prompt the 'User-Defined Option' and change the library. The "CHGOBJOWN" program will prompt the command automatically so the new owner information can be entered. >> CLICK here to view the full tip: http://search400.techtarget.com/tip/1,289483,sid3_gci847347,00.html?FromTaxonomy=/pr/2f9 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- CREATE A USER PROFILE | Forum advice: Search400.com "Iwarren" needs to create a user profile with access to only one file via ODBC. A mad scientist plotting Internet domination? A geek with a gangrenous grudge? One tech consultant, Graham Cluley, says you need to think more along the lines of a pimply teenager with posters of J. Lo and Britney on the wall and a preoccupation with video games. Cluley pretty much pooh-poohs the idea that these kids are writing mission-critical system killers. He points to the recent DuLoad worm to prove his point. It arrives in your inbox under the file names "J. Lo Bikini Screensaver.exe," "Kama Sutra Tetris.exe" and 'The Sims Game crack.exe," as well as some pornographic names that would make Howard Stern blush. Sex and games -- basically we're dealing with the two guys from "Weird Science."
